WPT winner stole money

The winner of WPT LA Poker Classic 2018 Dennis Blieden, who earned one million dollars for the 1st place, pleaded guilty to the embezzlement of $22 million from the company he worked for.

Blieden was controller and vice president of accounting and finance of digital marketing company StyleHaul. He had an access to the bank accounts of company and spent the stole money for his general expenses, gambling and cryptocurrency. The investigation concluded that Blieden abused his rights and transferred money to his own accounts.

In order to hide the embezzlement of money, Dennis specified incorrect information in StyleHaul's financial statements and said that transfers were conducted within the calculations of company's clients.

Now, Blieden is looking at a maximum of 22 years behind the bars.
