WPT Shooting Stars: who made it to the second game day

WPT Shooting Stars

On July 29, PartyPoker carried out the first game day of the WPT Shooting Stars charity event worth $1 100. In total, the tournament collected 483 entries, and thanks to this, $51 200 will be given as a donation to the company developing a vaccine against Covid-19. It should be mentioned that $500 from each buy-in went to a prize pool formed to award the players who have knocked celebrities out of the event.

To say there were a large number of famous people playing the tournament would be an understatement. They were literally at every online table: eminent poker players, show business and sports stars, etc.

Mabbot's unsuccessful bluff

Luke Mabbot is a finalist on the Love Island reality show. No one expected to see a strong poker play from him since he is engaged in a completely different activity. Despite this, Luke played very well, and his departure was a real action.

Mabbot went all-in with a Queen high on the flop, while the board had both a king and an ace. Anatoly Filatov revealed his opponent's strange bluff, and Luke eventually left the tournament.

Snooker or poker?

Three-time world snooker champion Mark Williams is perhaps the most famous athlete who continues his participation in the WPT Shooting Stars event. An interesting fact is that on Friday he has to play the first match within the World Snooker Championship.

What will Mark choose: snooker or poker? If one considers this situation from a financial perspective, Williams can get more money for first place in the WPT Shooting Stars than for the World Snooker Championship quarterfinals. On the other hand, it's hard to compare the prestige of the World Championship and the charity poker tournament.

The following poker starts managed to get to Day 2: Sam Trickett, Liv Boeree, Manig Loeser and Joao Vieira. Loeser is a chip leader of the tournament and he has good chances of becoming a winner.
