Last night Phil Hellmuth got his first victory over the last six month. In July, The Poker Brat won his 15th gold bracelet at the WSOP 2018 and after that, there was a slight lull in Phil's winnings. Hellmuth finally rammed the ice and took first place in a heads-up event at the Borgata Poker Open series. In total, 64 players entered the tournament and all of them wanted to get the main prize. It was only possible for Phil Hellmuth, who once again showed that his “white magic” is working.
In heads-up, Phil was confronted by American poker player Joey Cappello. His total prize money (throughout entire career) is ten times less than Hellmuth’s results. Nevertheless, the guy showed a good game and fought against Phil until the end. The champion's name became known after the dealer distributed 9-10 to Helmut and 10-6 to Cappello. The board of 10-7-5-9-5 did not promise anything good to Joey, but it made Hellmuth the winner of this event. As a result, Phil took the next title and $37 000 in prize money.
Later, the poker player wrote on his Twitter that feels exhausted after the game:
Simply exhausted (w a lil headache) after winning @BorgataPoker Tourney last night. Combo of being older, and playing 3 three-hour-long Heads Up Matches Saturday, and 3 more long ones on Sunday...No time off in Heads Up Matches: every hand, every decision, counts! #RestUpPH— phil_hellmuth (@phil_hellmuth) January 29, 2019
