South Korea starts to open casinos after the quarantine
Around the world, many gambling establishments were forced to be quarantined due to the growing pace of coronavirus spread and they suffered serious losses.
The casinos in Macau were the first to suffer from quarantine measures. At the beginning of February, all gambling establishments in the region were closed for a two-week period.
However, the casinos in Macau began to open after the quarantine. Some days ago, the Mayor of Las Vegas Carolyn Goodman encouraged the US Government to allow the opening of gambling establishments in Nevada. Otherwise, according to her words, the whole region will face "terrible consequences".
Gambling establishments in South Korea starts to open the doors to visitors again. Paradise Co Ltd announced the opening of its casinos in Seoul, Incheon and Busan. Its casino in Jeju opened last week.
The main competitor of this gambling company Grand Korea Leisure Co Ltd decided to hold off on the opening of gambling establishments until May 6. It is worth noting that only foreigners can play in the casinos of these two companies, while South Korean citizens are strictly forbidden to play in these establishments.
South Korea is one of the Asian countries that suffered greatly from coronavirus outbreak. However, the country emerged from the pandemic with only 236 deaths.
Kangwon Land Casino is the only gambling establishment in the country that allows South Koreans to play in. It will be opened on 4 May.
