Sam Soverel took down ME Poker Masters and Purple Jacket
The series of Poker Masters tournament has come to the end. The real hero of this poker festival was Sam Soverel, who managed to get to the 7 final tables in 10 events. During that time, Sam earned $1 400 000 in prize money.
The poker player was also fighting for the Purple Jacket title. Ali Imsirovic won the award last year, but this time it went to Sam. Winning the Main Event Poker Masters for $10 000 did help Soverel to become the Purple Jacket holder.
«It’s exciting to win! I just like being in action all the time and when you win you get to play the longest», – Sam Soverel said after winning the title.
There were six players to start the final table, including such professionals as Chris Hunichen, Elio Fox, Stephen Chidwick, Seth Davies, Ali Imsirovic and Sam Soverel. Ali Imsirovic was the first player to leave the game – the guy, unfortunately, wasn’t lucky enough as he became the event bubble boy.
Stephen Chidwick eliminated from the tournament in the fourth place, for which he received $170 000 in prize money. The 3rd place and $272 000 went to Elio Fox from the USA.
In heads-up, Sam Soverel was opposed by Chris Hunichen. The decisive battle for gaining victory did not last long, and Sam was able to benefit from his fourfold advantage in the stack.
In the final hand, Sam went all-in with Q-10, and Hunichen called with pocket deuces. Soverel eventually won the heads-up, having collected a pair of queens. The guy got $680 000 for finishing first.
