Run It Once Poker will hold a charity tournament
The successful poker player and founder of charitable organization Dan Smith wrote a post on Instagram and informed that his organization started to provide assistance for the people affected by COVID-19.
The owner of Run It Once Poker Phil Galfond supported this initiative and he decided to hold a charity tournament with the aim of helping people with the low-income level in Las Vegas who were the most affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The funds can be donated via GiveDirectly. As a bonus, anyone who donates money to a good cause can become the participant of a special heads-up tournament with professional players at Run it Once.
The given tournament will be held without buy-in on 11 April in the format of Heads-Up NLHE. 32 participants will play in this event, but 16 seats will be given to such professionals as Phil Galfond, Dan Smith, Daniel Dvoress, Sam Greenwood, John Cynn, Kevin Martin and others.
Another 16 places will be distributed among those donated their funds. Eight of the seats are planned to be given to those who have made the largest donations. The remaining eight places are going to be randomly distributed among those who have donated any amount of money.
The champion of tournament will obtain the trophy, an access to master class «A-Game Poker», 3 months of training at Run It Once under the Elite program and 3 months of access to GTO trainer.
Run It Once Poker will make a donation in the amount of €10 for each participant who will play at least one hand in the poker room this Saturday. In turn, Double Up Drive organization of Dan Smith will increase all donations up to $500 for a total amount of $250 000.
