PartyPoker will soon prohibit HUD and other third-party software
PartyPoker room plans to restrict supportive software using. In particular, HUD (a tool to collect information about your opponent) will be banned.
The ban is designed to reduce the difference between regulars and recreational players. Due to the third-party software, recreational players lose too often, and the game becomes less attractive for them. After new rules will be applied, the survival rate of amateur players at Partypoker should increase. As a result, the flow of people in the room will be bigger.
HUD (heads-up display) is a tool for organizing and displaying statistical data about opponents in real time. Previously, other poker rooms (including PokerStars) already prohibited their players to use HUD.
According to professional players, the decision to ban third-party software does not mean its complete disappearance. Players are expected to find a way to circumvent the new rules and continue to use the programs they need.
