PartyPoker intends to completely exit gray markets by 2023

PartyPoker 2020

Top poker rooms are working hard to legalize their operations in various markets. In order to "clear" their reputation, they have to give up work in the countries where the online gambling market is not regulated by law.

PartyPoker also decided to pursue this strategy. Last month, the GVC Holdings representatives announced that they intend to completely remove PartyPoker from the gray markets by 2023.

This means that the poker room will soon completely cease its operation in the countries, which have no relevant legislation. PartyPoker’s Community Manager Colette Stewart made a statement on the subject.

According to Stewart, the GVC brand will only tend to operate in regulated, fully licensed markets in the future. By mid-December, they will no longer offer the services in the unregulated poker markets.

This decision was made by the PartyPoker management due to the fact that in the USA, where online poker is most popular, more and more states are legalizing the operations of poker rooms. Thus, the GVC Holdings wants to raise its rating and reputation in the sight of American gambling regulators.

Players from Poland, Norway and Montenegro have already been informed that PartyPoker will soon cease to function in these countries. In total, the poker room intends to leave the market in 20 countries.
