Nine finalists at Main Event WSOP 2020

Main Event WSOP 2020

This year, World Series of Poker surprised everyone with the second Main Event. WSOP 2020 ME is hold at GGPoker and WSOP.com with an interesting structure. One finalist will be determined at GGPoker, and another one – at WSOP.com.

The American player and the champion of Maine Event at GGPoker will fight in the main final heads-up in Las Vegas. Today, we will talk about final table of this ME and its participants.

Decisive day for participants of GGPoker WSOP ME

It took just over 10 hours to finish bubble stage and to determine the final table with nine participants. These players are able to start packing their bags for the trip to Rozvadov, in which the final table will be held in a live format.

Final table consists of the players from different countries, so the team is international. This means that the organizers of tournament will need to pay special attention to the arrival of finalists in such difficult times due to coronavirus.

All nine finalists are guaranteed to receive their share of $6 470 400 prize pool (minimum payout for the ninth place is $75 000). Also, they have a chance to reach the main heads-up in Las Vegas and compete for the champion title and additional one million dollars.

After the bubble stage, the chip account in tournament lobby showed the following numbers:

  1. Brunno Botteon (Brazil) – 10 317 743 (52BB)
  2. Manuel Ruivo (Portugal) – 6 213 759 (31BB)
  3. Damian Salas (Argentina) – 5 653 528 (28BB)
  4. "fullbabyfull" (Liechtenstein) – 4 232 560 (21BB)
  5. Hannes "BlackFortuna" Speiser (Austria) – 3 515 744 (18BB)
  6. Dominykas "MickeyMouse" Mikolaitis (Lithuania) – 3 165 440 (16BB)
  7. Ramon "Ritza" Munoz (Spain) – 3 035 940 (15BB)
  8. Peiyuan "fish3098" Sun (China) – 2 185 676 (11BB)
  9. Stoyan "UncleToni" Obreshkov (Bulgaria) – 2 119 610 (11BB)

Thus, Brunno Botteon from Brazil is the chip leader. Damian Salas from Argentina is ranked third in the chip account, and this is not the first final table at WSOP ME for him. In 2017, Damian took the seventh place in Main Event and earned $1 425 000.

There is an interesting situation in the bottom of chip account. Two players have 11BB in their stack. One of them is from China and the following question arises: is it worth coming from miles around to go all-in almost immediately?

We will find out the answer on 15 December at 18:00 (UTC) in Rozvadov. You are able to watch the live stream of ME WSOP 2020 final table on Cardmates website.
