Daniel Negreanu and Doug Polk to match strength in a heads-up

Negreanu and Polk 2020

Daniel Negreanu and Douglas Polk are anything but friends. Their feud started a few years ago when Daniel did not recommend Douglas's Upswing Poker training course to people.

The conflict escalated when Polk insulted Jason Mercier and Negreanu defended him. It is also worth recalling that Douglas Polk hung a billboard in Las Vegas bearing the inscription «More rake is better».

The poker players had a lot of fights over the course of Polk's career in poker. Let us remind you that Doug officially ended his poker career. Last year, the guy announced his retirement from poker, and this year, he even stopped releasing poker content for his Youtube channel.

Daniel and Douglas decided to resolve their disputes in a traditional way: they will match strength in a heads-up battle. All that’s left is negotiate the terms of the poker match. PokerShares has already taken bets on this HU battle.

Doug Polk wants to solely play high stakes no-limit hold'em. Negreanu, in turn, doesn't mind playing a mix of NLH and other disciplines to get an advantage over his opponent.

The poker players have agreed on the following conditions:

  • $200 / $400 heads-up
  • 2 NLH tables
  • No more than 25 000 hands

To the delight of all fans of the players, such an interesting duel will be broadcast live. The battle will take place no earlier than in the autumn, as Negreanu is currently actively participating in the World Series of Poker Online.

The specified time period suits Douglas as he will have more time to prepare for the heads-up. So, who do you think will end up as a winner: Negreanu or Polk?
