PokeThese – WSOP Online 2020 champion

The second tournament has finished as part of the World Series of Poker 2020 at WSOP.com – it was the NLH Deepstack 8-Max worth $1 000. The event brought together 647 players who made 272 re-entries, which allowed the total prize pool to reach the mark of $873 050.

143 players got in the money, while a minimum payout amounted to $1 484. The champion received $168 586 and a gold bracelet of the series.

There were many recognizable poker professionals among the participants, but after 11 hours of playing, an unknown player under the "PokeThese" nickname became the second WSOP Online champion.

After the official results (with real names) were published, it turned out that his name is Louis Lynch. The guy comes from Sinking Spring, PA. According to the Hendon Mob resource, Lynch has been playing poker as an amateur since 2009. During this time, he had managed to earn over $150 000 in live events, while his largest prize money until WSOP 2020 was $54 500 for 4th place in the Foxwoods Poker Classic Championship Event 2010. Louis also received minimum prizes playing WSOP tournaments in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018. The guy got lucky in 2020, and he finally won the coveted gold bracelet along with a six-digit amount that exceeds all his previous tournament earnings combined.

In heads-up, PokeThese played against Ryan "KOVID19" Ko from Fremont (California). For second place, he received $104 242 and thereby doubled the amount of money earned throughout his entire poker career, just like Lynch. However, according to the Hendon Mob, Ko’s earnings are more modest. The guy’s first poker result is dated 2018. For 2 years, he mainly played in the USA and cashed in 16 events, making a total of $100 000.

The most famous player at the final table was Jason Somerville, but he ended up taking only 6th place, which brought him $27 763.
