Las Vegas casino revenues dropped by 45.5% in first month after quarantine

Las Vegas casino revenues dropped

After the easing of quarantine, most gambling establishments in Las Vegas reopened their doors to visitors.

However, their work became a little more difficult due to the new rules for casinos, which significantly limited attendance.

The gambling regulator of Nevada State published a monthly report, according to which the June income of gambling establishments in the state amounted to 566 million dollars. It means that revenues dropped by 45.5% compared to June 2019.

The gambling establishments of Las Vegas Strip won $238.3 million from the players in June 2020.

Given the fact that the tables should be filled to 50% and all visitors of the casinos are required to wear the masks (according to the new rules), such a decrease casino revenues was entirely to be expected.

Nevertheless, in some regions of Nevada State, the drop of incomes was below the predictions. For example, in North and South Lake Tahoe, the gambling profits decreased by only 20% compared to the same period last year, because the majority of casino visitors are local residents.
