Julien Martini: from 0.5 BB to Poker Masters Big Bet Mix Champion
The French professional player Julien Martini lost almost all of his chips in the top 3 of Big Bet Mix tournament for $10 000 at Poker Masters 2019. Only 0.5 BB left in his stack. But this didn’t stop him from grandiose comeback and winning. Moreover, it was important for the player to get a trophy:
“I came to the Poker Masters because even though I’m having an incredible year I didn’t have a single win and I really wanted one. I’m very happy to get this one!”
2019 was really successful for Julien Martini. Throughout this year, he won 3.3 million out of 4.4 million in his entire career. The winning at Poker Masters Big Bet Mix brought him $166 000, as well as a new champion's title in addition to WSOP and WPT trophies which he got in 2018.
Julien Martini commented on his winning:
“When I won my WSOP bracelet I was down to less than a big blind as well on the final day, so it’s like a lucky sign for me.”
In a heads-up, Martini fought against Austrian high roller Kahle Burns. However, a great struggle was in the top 3, until the Dutch poker pro Jorryt van Hoof left the game after a triple all-in.
The results of Poker Masters Event #5 Big Bet Mix final table:
- Julien Martini – $166 400
- Kahle Burns – $109 200
- Jorryt van Hoof – $72 800
