James Romero won SHR event at PartyPoker MILLIONS South America
The $25 500 super high roller tournament has finalized at the PartyPoker MILLIONS series that is currently taking place in North America. The event gathered a field of 35 players, but only one of them was strong enough to overcome the rivals and take the first place. It was James Romero, a poker player from the USA, who managed to take down the competition, having earned $350 000 in prize money.
American poker player Marty Mathis became the tournament runner-up and was given $213 750 for finishing second. In total, there were 5 poker players who got in the money.

Just 15 participants entered the final day of the tournament. The popular German poker professional Rainer Kempe wasn’t able to get to the final table, but his colleague from Poland – Dzmitry Urbanovich – broke into the finals, but he could not hold out until the bubble.
In heads-up, none of the players had an apparent advantage, and the chip leader was changing practically during each hand.

In the last hand of the match, Romero made a bet in the amount of 1 600 000 chips with A-10 (offsuit) and got a 3-bet all-in from Mathis, who had Q-J (offsuit). The flop showed a pair of aces, which improved on the turn and river and became a nut hand, eventually enshrining James Romero's victory in the tournament.
Throughout his poker career, Romero has earned over $4 430 000 in live events. His biggest winning is considered $1 938 100 for taking down the $10 000 Main Event at the WPT Five Diamond 2016.
