Indian player turned €40 into €95 000 at the EPT Barcelona
The EPT National tournament cost €1 100 has ended at the EPT Barcelona. Estonian player Markku Koplimaa became the event champion. He managed to overtake the field of 4 682 entries and took home €585 500. But, the story of another finalist turned out to be far more interesting.
Indian player Jai Saha took seventh place in the aforementioned event and won €95 100 in prize money. The phenomenon of this poker player’s game is that he got to the tournament through the satellite. To participate in the qualification tournament, he paid only €40. As a result, such an initiative of Saha brought him the winning equal to almost hundreds of thousands of euros. He increased his investments by a factor of over 2 300.
According to the player, he rarely takes part in live tournaments. The guy mainly plays poker online at weekends for fun.
«It was my first time playing for such a big prize pool. The players were quite good I think at the final table especially», told journalists Saha.
Prior to this big win, Jai’s total prize money in live tournaments was only $16 000.
«It was my first time playing such a big field as well. It was quite exciting and a good experience overall», the poker player commented his victory in the tournament.
Saha said that he had started playing poker with friends at college. He’s graduated from a university in the UK, having got engineering degree and is now working in information technology.
