GGPoker entered the Guinness Book of Records

A new poker page has appeared in the Guinness Book of Records. GGPoker took its place due to the WSOP 2020 Main Event, which prize pool reached the mark of $27 559 500.

Such an amount of tournament prize pool is an absolute record one for online poker. Main Event started on 6 September and collected 5 802 entries for $5 000. 728 players reached ITM zone, and the next player after the bubble boy got the minimum payment of $11 834.

The Bulgarian player Stoyan Madanzhiev became the winner of tournament and he got the most money. He managed to take the first place and earn a record prize for online poker in the amount of $3 904 685.

The Commissioner of Guinness World Records Michael Empric announced this joyous occasion during the personal meeting with GGPoker Ambassador Negreanu:

GGPoker official representative Steve Preiss stated that they have been preparing for this achievement for a very long time. According to his words, everyone expect a huge prize money from WSOP and they have realized their wish in full.

In turn, WSOP Director Ty Stewart added that Main Event's entry into the Guinness Book of Records is a logical result of the joint work of WSOP and GGPoker.

Ty believes that other poker rooms won’t be able to beat such a guarantee for a long time. However, if next year the World Series of Poker is held online again, then perhaps we will wait for a bigger prize pool.
