Changes in the algorithm for calculating aura
We introduced a couple of important innovations regarding the competition and aura in May, and also from June we removed the ability of authors to track who gives them ratings. In July, you will find a few more updates.
Firstly, we changed the accrual of points in the aura for new subscribers and ratings in the profile, and also removed the points for creating a blog, commenting on a post, for topics and comments on the forum. Thus, it’s not quantity that matters, but the quality of your content.
Secondly, the time periods and their coefficients have changed, which affect the calculation of the aura after time. Thanks to this, only active users will be able to get the maximum status on the site, while the aura of those who previously wrote, but stopped, will gradually “melt”.
Since July, there are four time periods on the site and each of them has its own coefficient, applied to points earned for this period:
- The first 30 days – coefficient x1 (fully accrued).
- From 31 to 60 days – coefficient x0.5.
- From 61 to 90 days – coefficient x0.25.
- More than 90 days – coefficient x0 (not credited to the aura).
Please note that on July 1, the current aura of all users will be recounted according to the new rules.
Statuses on the site allow you to participate in contests, receive bonuses from Cardmates and serve as your reputation in the community.
How winners are determined
The winners of the contest are determined by the readers of the site, rating the read posts. Therefore, it all depends on you and the reaction of the poker community to your blog.
You can follow the GambleTalk Bloggers Challenge ranking in July on the Cardmates homepage.
Only the blog rating earned in July is counted as a competition. The player rating in the competition is not taken into account, but will add points to the aura and promote your status on the site, and with it the ability to put and get higher points.
Upgrade your aura with blogs, comments, and other activities on Cardmates. But do not forget about what other readers and writers of the site value you, so your aura can either go up from high-quality content, interesting stories and witty jokes, or go into a deep minus due to spam and rudeness.
For our part, we pay special attention to the quality of posts and we will "fight" with posts that are written ignorantly and without effort.
Tomorrow the names of the best GambleTalk Bloggers Challenge bloggers for June will be known, and we will send them honestly earned cash rewards, and in July a new contest will start in which any of you can win, even if you do not have an account on Cardmates and even if you decide to break into the race in the middle of the month.
