Chris Hunichen became $25K Poker Players Championship runner-up

Chris Hunichen 2020

Chris Hunichen lost the fight for a gold bracelet in the $25 000 Poker Players Championship at the WSOP Online. The player had all chances to win that race and get the top prizes, as he was down to the final heads-up, but yield the palm to German Christian Rudolph. Despite that, Chris received a massive win of $1 332 000 for second place.

Thus, Hunichen significantly increased his total poker earnings, and the last payday became one of his biggest, if not the biggest, career prize money, but, unfortunately, he has never won the gold bracelet.

As for Christian Rudolph, that was his fourth final table at the 2020 WSOP, and the guy finally managed to win the WSOP trophy on his fourth try.

Christian Rudolph 2020

It’s also worth mentioning that Rudolph was very close to winning the bracelet almost two years ago when he lost the first place to young Australian player Michael Addamo. Back then, the heads-up was like a roller coaster, as the leader was constantly changing. Their confrontation lasted about 2.5 hours before Addamo struck the final blow. This time, it took Christian Rudolph only 20 minutes to take down the event.

Many experienced poker players fought for the victory in the $25K Poker Players Championship final besides Hunichen and Rudolph. The first to leave the game was Belarusian Aliaksei Boika. Following him, Paulius Plausinaitis from Lithuania eliminated from the event in eighth place. Both players received six-figure payouts in accordance with their finishing positions.

Surprisingly, Jason Koon took 7th place. He started the final table as a chip leader, so it is clearly far from the result that poker fans expected from the Team partypoker’s member. Jason though himself expected to be ranked high on the results table.

In general, 407 players took part in the $25 000 Poker Players Championship, which made it possible to form a prize pool of $10 000 000. Only the Main Event has a bigger prize pool, so the 25K PPC became the second-largest tournament in terms of the guarantee among all the poker events that have been carried out this summer.
